Jelly Roll Reveals He Attended Grammys with Broken Collarbone After ATV Accident
Jelly Roll Attended Grammys with Broken Collarbone

Country music sensation Jelly Roll, alongside his wife Bunnie Xo, has disclosed that he attended last month's prestigious Grammy awards ceremony while nursing a significant injury. The 41-year-old artist, whose real name is Jason DeFord, revealed in a social media post on Sunday that he had broken his collarbone in an all-terrain vehicle accident in late January.

Grammy Night with a Hidden Injury

In an Instagram video shared with his 5.8 million followers, Jelly Roll candidly described the pain he endured during the Grammy festivities. "I was out there running all over the Grammys with a broken collarbone," he confessed. "Every time I hugged somebody that week, I wanted to scream. I just didn't say it, but every time somebody squeezed me, dude, I thought I was gonna cry."

The musician explained that he had been keeping the injury secret from fans until recently, captioning his video: "I've been keeping a secret from y'all..." His wife Bunnie Xo, a 46-year-old internet personality currently promoting her new memoir, also shared footage of her husband in a hospital bed with a neck brace shortly after the accident.

Recovery and Return to Riding

Bunnie posted a video showing Jelly Roll propped up in a hospital bed with the caption: "This happened in January, worst phone call to ever get. But we got through it thank goodness & he's healed completely." In another post, she humorously wrote: "When your hubby snaps his collarbone in half after flipping an ATV & thinks he's so tough with a neck brace on."

Jelly Roll recently returned to riding his four-wheeler for the first time since the accident, admitting: "Just took this thing out for the first time since I flipped it." He explained his motivation for getting back behind the wheel, stating: "I was so scared to get back on this thing, y'all. I just knew that if I didn't get back on it sooner or later I was just going to be more and more afraid of it."

Grammy Success Despite Injury

Remarkably, the injury didn't prevent Jelly Roll from achieving significant success at the Grammy awards. The singer-songwriter won Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken during the ceremony. Additionally, he earned a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his contribution to the song Hard Fought Hallelujah, and took home another trophy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Shaboozey for Amen.

Personal Revelations and Milestones

Bunnie Xo's new memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, published on February 17, includes intimate details about their relationship. She discusses how they faced intimacy challenges before Jelly Roll's remarkable 300-pound weight loss transformation.

"We always had a sex life, but there were mountains and valleys that we had to go through, especially when he was so big," Bunnie recently told Us Weekly. She added that since his weight loss, "his new zest for life" has become "so childlike and just giddy," allowing her to see him "be the man that I always saw that he was."

The couple, who will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary in August, have maintained a strong partnership through various challenges. Bunnie reflected on her husband's transformation: "Even when he was 500 pounds, this dude was an agile, big guy. I'm like, 'You are athletic under that meat suit.' Now that he has the weight off of him, he just gets to be who I always knew that he was."

Jelly Roll expressed gratitude for those who helped restore his ATV after the accident, specifically thanking American Motor Sports in Dickson, Tennessee. "Whoever did this for us, thank y'all," he said in his video, showing the fully restored vehicle that he initially thought he had totaled in the January incident.
