Netflix will not commission a third series of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, according to sources close to the production. The decision marks the end of the heavily-promoted project, which debuted in March 2025 from a rented £5 million mansion in Montecito.
Behind the Scenes of the Cancellation
Insiders have revealed to Page Six that the 44-year-old's passion project is not up for renewal, with the Duchess herself reportedly describing the production as 'a lot of work'. While there have been preliminary discussions about potential holiday specials, no concrete plans are currently in development.
One source stated: 'It is not returning as a series. There have been conversations about holiday specials, but there's nothing in the works yet.' Another indicated that fans would see similar culinary and crafting content, but in a more condensed format, saying: 'People will see similar cooking and crafting on Meghan's socials for the brand, but more bite-sized.'
Critical Reception and Viewing Figures
The show, which aimed to offer lifestyle tips, faced a harsh reception from critics upon its launch. Reviewers labelled it as 'gormless lifestyle filler' possessing a 'tangible desperation'. On the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, it achieved an overall approval rating of just 23 per cent.
According to Netflix's official engagement report, With Love, Meghan ranked a lowly number 383 among all the platform's productions for the first half of 2025, garnering 5.3 million global views. This performance failed to break into Netflix's top ten, or even the top 300, programmes—a stark contrast to the Sussexes' previous documentary, Harry & Meghan, which achieved 23.4 million views in late 2022.
The series featured celebrity guests including chefs José Andrés and Alice Waters, as well as friends like Chrissy Teigen and Mindy Kaling. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, also made appearances. In the second series, released in August 2025, the Duchess opened up about her romance with Prince Harry, revealing he said 'the L word' first and that she realised she was falling in love on their third date in Botswana.
Strategic Shift to the As Ever Lifestyle Brand
With the series ending, insiders explain that Meghan will concentrate her efforts on building her lifestyle brand, As Ever. This pivot appears to be part of a broader commercial strategy. It was claimed earlier this month that the Duchess is planning to release her first cookbook for adults in 2026, expected to include recipes from the Netflix show and personal favourites.
An insider told The Daily Mail: 'Meghan is looking at a cookbook for early 2026 and there will be more lifestyle products coming in the spring.' The As Ever range is predicted to expand, particularly in candles and homeware, while her wine offering will grow beyond the initial white, rosé, and sparkling bottles. A California cabernet sauvignon is rumoured to be in development.
However, the brand will reportedly move away from its initial crepe and biscuit kits. '2026 is looking like another big year for her,' the Mail's source said. 'There will be more wine and definitely more homeware too. But she will ease off selling her biscuit and crepe kits.'
Despite the show's cancellation, Meghan's partnership with Netflix continues. She stated previously: 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand.' A representative for the Sussexes was contacted for comment regarding the series' fate.
