Adam Thomas has revealed the exact moment things went wrong between himself and David Haye during their time on I'm A Celebrity...South Africa. The former Emmerdale star, 37, emerged victorious as a Jungle Legend in the most recent series but it all came after a dramatic few weeks where he was at the centre of an ugly feud with the boxer.
The Unaired Moment That Changed Everything
Speaking on his brothers' podcast, Thomas explained that while the conflict started as banter, a specific comment he made after winning a trial—which was not broadcast—shifted the dynamic. He recalled David repeatedly saying 'It's all about winning, it's a sport mentality' in camp. Thomas responded, 'I thought you said it was all about winning, David,' and admitted, 'That was the moment where I f***** up.' From then on, he said the digs became too 'personal' to be dismissed as jokes.
Thomas's Perspective on the Feud
The Waterloo Road actor, who has arthritis, noted that David did not seem to understand his condition when trying to force him into a trial. Thomas said, 'I know what banter is. It's a two-way street. Everything he was saying to me was personal and it just got to a point where it crossed the line.'
David Haye's Response
David Haye, speaking before the final aired, stood by his behaviour and claimed Thomas had become a 'professional victim.' On This Morning, Haye said, 'The bullying thing, he's really fanning the flames... Whenever there was a trial, his sickness popped up and I just called that out.' He added, 'He's a super sweet guy but he's a professional victim.'
The feud has sparked widespread discussion, with Thomas now opening up about the unaired moment he believes turned banter into a personal conflict.
