Series Background and Cast Details
Beyond Paradise follows Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman, portrayed by Kris Marshall, after his departure from the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie featured in Death in Paradise. Goodman and his partner Martha Lloyd, played by Sally Bretton, have settled in Shipton Abbott, a town near the Devon coastline. Ahmadi stars as Detective Sergeant Esther Williams, a key member of the local police force alongside Goodman.
In addition to her role in Beyond Paradise, Ahmadi is set to feature in Betrayal, a four-part ITV thriller set within the world of MI5. The series, which includes actors Shaun Evans and Romola Garai, explores complex human relationships where loyalty and deception intersect. Ahmadi expressed enthusiasm for the project, recalling how she "absolutely whizzed through" the initial scripts before her audition, describing it as a sign of exceptional writing.
Beyond Paradise continues to air on BBC One, maintaining its status as a beloved crime drama with a dedicated viewer base eagerly awaiting the new series.
