Coronation Street's Becky Swain Threatens Final Revenge from Prison
Corrie's Becky Swain plots revenge from prison

In a dramatic new twist for Coronation Street, super villain Becky Swain is set to threaten her final act of revenge against her wife, Lisa, from behind bars. The shocking development comes almost four months after the explosive events of the historic Corriedale crossover with Emmerdale, which culminated in a fatal crash.

The Aftermath of the Corriedale Crash

Viewers of the ITV soap have been reeling since the early January catastrophe that claimed the life of beloved vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). The chain of events began when Becky, who had previously been presumed dead, attempted to flee Weatherfield with Lisa and their teenage daughter Betsy after holding factory boss Carla Connor captive.

A high-speed chase involving DC Kit Green and Carla led to a collision with Emmerdale's John Sugden. In the ensuing chaos, Billy swerved the minibus returning from Debbie Webster's wedding, leading to the tragic smash that ended his life. Becky was ultimately arrested by her own wife, Lisa, who snapped handcuffs on her while lying injured in an ambulance.

Becky's Prison Threat and Family Fallout

New spoilers confirm that next week, Becky will reappear on screens, communicating from prison. Betsy overhears Lisa telling Carla that Becky has vowed to "take her down" with her, prompting the furious teenager to visit her mother in jail.

Betsy confronts Becky, who is visibly seething with anger. This leaves fans wondering if the notorious character will actually carry out her ominous threat against Lisa. The family dynamic remains fractured, complicated further by Lisa's brief infidelity with Becky while she was held hostage, which caused Carla to end their relationship once more.

Is a Swarla Reunion Still Possible?

Despite the turmoil, there is a glimmer of hope for fans of the 'Swarla' pairing—Lisa and Carla. Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks recently provided insight, stating: "Becky was an absolute obstacle thrown their way, and her true colours have absolutely been revealed for all to see. Lisa's finally kind of realised the extent of the manipulation and the lies that Becky's told."

Brooks teased a potential path to reconciliation, adding: "We'll see them starting to make their way back to each other. There's a lot to get past, but they love each other... The ghost of Becky is finally being put to bed. They can move forward with their lives, and they can look forward to their future together." She hinted that a wedding or a significant romantic gesture could be on the horizon for the couple.

For now, the residents of Weatherfield are left to deal with the consequences of the crash and the lingering threat from a vengeful Becky Swain. Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
