In a fresh twist for Albert Square, EastEnders has unveiled a brand new love interest for the perennial womaniser Max Branning, further complicating the mystery surrounding his impending fifth marriage in 2027.
A Fifth Contender Enters the Fray
The speculation began during the show's New Year's Day episode, which teased Max's future wedding without revealing the bride's identity. The BBC cleverly hinted at four potential candidates: Cindy Beale, Linda Carter, Chelsea Fox, and Denise Fox. However, upcoming episodes will introduce a surprising fifth option.
Enter Bea Pollard, played by newcomer Ronni Ancona. Bea is an old schoolmate of Linda Carter and is temporarily staying at the Peacock Palace. Actress Ronni Ancona has spoken about her character, describing Bea as "mercurial, witty, and charismatic, yet vulnerable." She added, "Bea is misunderstood... Deep down, she just wants to be loved and to fit in. She’s the sort of person who ‘window-shops’ other people’s lives, trying to reshape herself into whoever she thinks others want her to be."
This new storyline ensures the question of who will become Max Branning's fifth wife in 2027 remains wide open, promising plenty of drama, misunderstanding, and classic Walford twists in the weeks to come.
