Emmerdale star Caroline Harker has revealed the sinister intentions behind her character Dr Todd's actions, as the villain targets Charity Dingle over her baby lie and pursues a romance with Vanessa Woodfield.
Speaking to The Mirror, Harker explained that Todd's bullying of medical student Jacob Sugden escalated gradually. 'I think she just pushes it until she's stopped. She doesn't premeditate things; she's quite in the moment,' Harker said. 'Her standards are really high, and she wanted Jacob to have those too, but she didn't know she'd go this dark.'
Regarding Todd's feelings for Vanessa, Harker admitted they are genuine, but her darker instincts prevail. 'I think she doesn't mean it genuinely at first, but between you and me, I think she does. She doesn't know how to do love. But the desire to do dodgy things is stronger. Poor old Vanessa!'
Harker also teased that Todd may target Manpreet Sharma next, saying, 'Once I've got the money, if I get bored, I'll ask Manpreet round and move on there.'
