Emmerdale Star Teases Triple Prison Exit as Damning Confession Changes Everything

Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt, who portrays Paddy Dingle, has reacted to a shocking new twist on the ITV soap, where Bear Wolf makes a damning confession that could lead to three characters facing prison exits. In recent episodes, Bear accidentally killed villain Ray Walters, who had exploited him in a modern slavery plot and attempted to murder Paddy and teenager Dylan Penders.

Murder Cover-Up Unravels

After Ray's death, Paddy, Bear, and Dylan conspired to cover up the crime, keeping Bear's actions secret until he eventually confessed. Paddy has been battling to protect both himself and Dylan from involvement, arguing that Bear's killing was an act of self-defence. However, the situation spirals out of control next week when Bear panics during another police interview.

Having already admitted to the accidental death, Bear decides to claim he deliberately murdered Ray in a desperate attempt to shield Paddy and Dylan from exposure. Dominic Brunt explains that this latest move triggers further dramatic twists, with Paddy convinced that all three are doomed to imprisonment.

Paddy's Fears and Consequences

Dominic shared, "Paddy thinks they're all going to prison now, and that’s the end of the line. After everything they've done, he believes they're all doomed. It's about telling the truth after months of lying, so there must be repercussions." He added that Paddy is particularly worried about Bear, who has been struggling with depression, and fears he might say something unintended during questioning, rather than sticking to a rehearsed story.

With DS Walsh firmly convinced that Paddy assisted his father, the new twist forces both Paddy and Dylan to consider revealing the truth. Dominic noted, "Paddy's been questioned by Walsh, and he knows she’s absolutely cracking. She’s on it completely. If there's a way, she'll find it; she's brilliant." Despite this, Paddy is determined to keep Dylan out of trouble, hinting he might cover for the teenager to prevent him from confessing.

Emotional Turmoil and Self-Blame

Paddy is deeply concerned about the impact a prison sentence would have on Dylan's future, questioning his chances for employment and a normal life. Dominic admitted that Paddy himself would not cope well in prison, stating, "I don't think he would do very well at all. He's not the sort to become the leader of a prison wing; he's weak and would be exploited."

Furthermore, Paddy would struggle to forgive himself if Bear is sentenced, as he feels guilty for the entire situation and is trying to make amends for lost time with his father. Dominic explained, "He thinks he's failing consistently and worryingly, making things worse. He means well, but his decisions are terrible. Paddy would not forgive himself for a long time; he’d blame himself."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with fans eagerly awaiting the fallout from this gripping storyline.
