Emmerdale Star Natalie J Robb Teases Joe Tate's Impending Downfall

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Natalie J Robb, who portrays Moira Dingle in the long-running ITV soap Emmerdale, has hinted at a dramatic downfall for the villainous Joe Tate. Robb suggested that Moira is patiently biding her time for revenge, as Joe's list of enemies continues to grow due to his unforgivable actions.

Joe Tate's Villainous Actions and Moira's Resilience

Joe Tate, described by Robb as a "narcissist", has orchestrated numerous malicious schemes that have left a trail of devastation in the village. His most egregious acts include:

  • Framing Moira for human trafficking, leading to her wrongful imprisonment.
  • Setting up events that resulted in Moira being accused of a double murder she did not commit.
  • Blackmailing the Sugden family and targeting the Dingle clan.

Despite these hardships, Moira has shown remarkable resilience. Recently, she sold her farm land to the Tates, a move that might seem like a defeat, especially amid her husband Cain Dingle's cancer diagnosis. However, Robb emphasized that this is far from the case. "Moira will be biding her time before she can sort things out," she explained, noting that someone else might take revenge first if Moira doesn't act swiftly.

The Growing Queue for Revenge

Robb revealed that while there are no confirmed scenes yet depicting Joe's comeuppance, the tension is undoubtedly building. "It definitely heats up between the Dingles and the Tates, especially Moira and Joe," she said. "He's under her radar, that's for sure." She contrasted Joe with Kim Tate, highlighting that while Kim is a businesswoman with a checkered past, Joe is "low-level evil" and solely focused on winning at all costs.

The actress also discussed Joe's resemblance to his late father, Chris Tate, and hinted at future plot developments. Spoilers indicate that Joe plans to destroy the memorial for Moira's late daughter, Holly, on the farm. Robb commented, "It is too far, she knows that. These are little chinks in the armour for her." She suggested that Moira is storing up these grievances, potentially leading to a waiting game before she strikes.

However, Moira might not be the only one seeking payback. Robb warned, "There is a queue, but you never know, the queue's getting larger and larger." This implies that other characters could also plot against Joe, making for an explosive storyline later on.

Behind the Scenes Excitement

Robb expressed enthusiasm for the evolving dynamics on set, noting the variety of working with different actors across the show. "We're working with a lot of different actors, so I quite like that," she shared, adding that the change has been refreshing and exciting for the cast.

Emmerdale continues to air weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with fans eagerly awaiting the inevitable clash between Moira and Joe Tate.
