Josie Gibson to Host New ITV Decluttering Series 'How To Clean Up For Cash'
Television presenter Josie Gibson is set to host a brand new ITV show this spring titled How To Clean Up For Cash. The programme will feature Gibson covertly entering families' homes to pack up their clutter and determine its monetary value.
Sneaky Decluttering with a Heartfelt Mission
The innovative format sees Gibson distracting unsuspecting participants with a fake television show premise. While they are occupied, she and a team of experts have forty-eight hours to thoroughly clear out the home and secretly appraise the belongings. Upon returning, the homeowners are presented with their tidied space and must decide whether to sell the boxed-up items or keep them.
Gibson, a forty-one-year-old presenter originally from Bristol, described the show as having "so much heart." She emphasised, "It isn't just about decluttering, it's about bringing people together. We're on the ground, in homes across the country, showing viewers how much their everyday items might be worth." A self-proclaimed car boot sale fanatic and passionate collector, Gibson aims to help others part with their excess possessions.
Expert Team and Production Details
The six-part series is a collaboration between production companies MultiStory Media and Vintage Cash Cow. Gibson will be joined by antiques and collectables expert Dan Hatfield and decluttering specialist Jacqueline McLeod, combining entertainment with professional insight.
Kate Teckman, head of development and commissioning editor for factual entertainment at ITV, stated the show turns the decluttering genre on its head. "Expect mischief, revelations behind the value of everyday items and plenty of jaw-dropping moments," she said. "Josie's infectious humour combined with Dan and Jacqui's expertise really packs a punch."
Simone Haywood, creative director at Multistory Media, added, "We're not just decluttering – we're revealing the true value behind what people own. When everything's boxed and priced, it sparks honest, often surprising conversations about what really matters."

Josie Gibson first rose to fame after winning Channel 4's Big Brother in 2010. Her subsequent presenting roles include Around The World In First Class and Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide With Josie Gibson. She also placed fourth on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023 and is a regular presenter on ITV's flagship daytime programme This Morning.
