New Movies to Stream (April 27-May 3)

'Swapped' (Netflix, May 1) — Fresh off his Oscar win, Michael B. Jordan voices a small forest creature who switches bodies with his adversary, a regal bird (voiced by Juno Temple). Directed by Nathan Greno of 'Tangled' fame, the film also features Cedric the Entertainer and Tracy Morgan. Think 'Freaky Friday' with feathers.

'Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc' (Crunchyroll, April 30) — This anime film, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga about a teenager murdered by the Yakuza who is reborn with the ability to turn his body parts into chainsaws to fight devils. It's also a romance and rated R.

'Conbody vs Everybody' (Criterion Channel, May 1) — This five-part docuseries from Debra Granik ('Winter's Bone') follows ex-con Coss Marte over eight years as he builds a New York gym that employs formerly incarcerated individuals.

'Hallow Road' (Hulu, May 2) — Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys star as parents rushing to help their daughter after a late-night accident. AP film writer Lindsey Bahr calls it 'an effectively minimalistic thriller that leaves much room for interpretation.'

'Saros' (PS5, May 1) — From Housemarque (Returnal), this shooter on the shape-shifting planet Carcosa features high-tech weapons and a shield that reflects alien projectiles.

'Aphelion' (PS5, Xbox X/S, PC, April 29) — Two astronauts stranded on the frozen planet Persephone must use exploration skills to survive. Developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency.
