Devoted fans of the hit BBC series The Traitors are in for a major surprise after seeing how the show's famous breakfast room looks when the cameras stop rolling. The revelation comes from a musician who recently performed at the real-life location, Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
The Castle's Chameleon Dining Room
Since the show launched in 2022, the tense morning gatherings where Claudia Winkleman reveals the previous night's 'murder' have been filmed in a grand castle setting. The on-screen room features a large banquet table and a wall lined with portraits of the contestants.
However, musician Harry the Pianist shared TikTok videos showing the space in its everyday guise. The familiar banquet table is replaced by a smaller, square one, and a mirror hangs where the contestants' portraits are displayed during filming. The room is furnished with plush sofas and large mirrors, creating a completely different atmosphere from the dramatic set viewers know.
A Premium Venue for Real-Life Drama
The 19th-century Ardross Castle, set amidst forests and hills about 30 miles north of Inverness, is a sought-after wedding and events venue. Its association with The Traitors has only increased its allure. However, saying 'I do' here is far from a budget option.
The castle does not offer pre-packaged weddings, instead allowing couples to create their own plans. While exact prices are not listed, estimates suggest costs start from £13,840. A three-day all-inclusive package begins at approximately £32,000, and The Times reported that a two-night wedding stay can cost around £45,000.
The Hunt for the Secret Traitor Intensifies
This revelation about the castle comes as the current series of The Traitors continues to deliver high-stakes drama. Host Claudia Winkleman introduced a new twist this season: a red-cloaked 'Secret Traitor', whose identity is hidden even from the audience.
While Claudia chose Stephen, Rachel, and Hugo as the regular Traitors, the Secret Traitor operates anonymously. This has led to intense speculation among fans, with some believing a blunder on the spin-off show Uncloaked may have given the game away.
Eagle-eyed viewers noted that during an episode, the three known Traitors' portraits were shown on the wall alongside a picture of fellow contestant Harriet. This sparked a flurry of theories on social media, with many convinced Harriet is the secret player. This follows earlier speculation that contestant Sam was the extra Traitor after he made a comment about wanting to stay 'under the radar'.
The Traitors continues to air on BBC One and iPlayer, keeping audiences guessing both about the castle's secrets and the identity of the mysterious traitor in their midst.
