Traitors Contestant Roxy Wilson Expresses Profound Shock and Regret After Elimination

Faithful player Roxy Wilson, who was dramatically "murdered" in Thursday's episode of BBC One's hit show The Traitors, has opened up about her intense reaction to discovering fellow contestant Stephen Libby was a Traitor. Speaking candidly on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills, Wilson admitted she was left utterly "shook" by the revelation, describing Libby's deceptive charm as completely disarming.

"I Might as Well Have Kept the Blindfold On"

Wilson confessed her disbelief at Libby's true allegiance, stating: "I think he is now, I was honestly shook, I was just like, 'oh, man', this is it. I mean, I might as well have kept the blindfold on the whole way through the game at that point, but he's so friendly and charismatic and just lures you in, and so I was just like, 'yeah, no, it's never him, never him'." Her comments highlight the psychological toll of the game's betrayals, where trust is constantly tested and shattered.

Regret Over Voting Out Fellow Faithful James Baker

Beyond the shock of Libby's deception, Wilson also expressed sincere regret over her decision to vote to banish fellow Faithful James Baker. Reflecting on her misjudgment, she explained: "Poor James, well, in my head, I was so right, and I have a habit of sticking quite strongly to my guns. So I think, yeah, in the game, it's the game, but yeah, he was obviously not a traitor." This admission underscores the difficult choices players face in the high-stakes environment of The Traitors, where paranoia can lead to costly errors.

Personal Revelations and Family Connections

In a lighter moment, Wilson shared exciting personal news, revealing that her mother, Judy Wilson—who also appeared as a Faithful on the show—is "buzzing" about becoming a grandmother for the twelfth time. Wilson, who announced her own pregnancy earlier this month, added: "She's (Judy) buzzing, I mean, she's got 11 grandkids already, so this is the 12th, but she's excited... So for me, it's like the first baby, a novelty, and she's like, 'yeah, another one, come on'."

Wilson also discussed the "crazy" anticipation of revealing her secret mother-daughter bond with Judy on the show. The dramatic disclosure came after Roxy's elimination, with presenter Claudia Winkleman informing the remaining players. Speaking on BBC Radio London, Wilson expressed her long-held desire for that moment: "It was crazy, because I've been waiting so long to give them that moment. So I was like, at least I still know something they don't know. So then to see their reactions, I think Faraaz was eating a grape and it fell out of his mouth or something. So it's just so cool, I was like, 'yes, I've at least got one over on them', so that was good."

Silver Lining in Early Departures

While Wilson admitted she was "gutted" by her mother's early exit from the game, she found a silver lining in no longer having to worry about accidentally calling her "mum" on camera. This added layer of personal drama showcases how The Traitors blends intense gameplay with real-life emotional stakes, captivating audiences across the UK.
