A self-proclaimed 'TV nerd' has highlighted the best three series of 2026 so far, and the welcome news is they're all available to stream immediately. Reviewer Luke Eccleston, who goes by Eccy Reviews on social media, headed to TikTok to reveal the 'bingeworthy' programmes.
'If you're looking for something to watch, I'm going to give you the best three shows that have dropped so far this year,' he opened in a video. Luke clarified that all three shows differ in genre, including a thriller, an action drama, and a fantasy tale, and he consequently hopes there will be something for everyone in his selection, which is detailed below.
His & Hers
This psychological thriller can be found on Netflix, and according to Luke is 'full of twists and turns'. 'It's a limited series, so it's one and done - but trust me this story will have you hooked,' he stated. Luke went on, praising the performances as 'unreal'. On IMDb, His & Hers' synopsis reads: 'A journalist investigating a murder in her hometown clashes with a suspicious detective. There are two sides to every story, and someone is lying.' The six-part series features Tessa Thompson as Anna Andrews, Jon Bernthal as Jack Harper, and Pablo Schreiber as Richard Jones.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
A prequel to the phenomenally successful Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms remains an excellent programme even as a standalone production according to Luke. 'It's so good and full of comedy, full of action sequences, and it brings back the good parts of Game of Thrones that I have been waiting for,' he enthused. The fantasy programme's six-part debut series is available on HBO Max and stars youngster Dexter Sol Ansell as the loveable Aegon 'Egg' Targaryen, former rugby union player Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan 'Dunk' the Tall, and Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon. 'A century before GOT [Game of Thrones], Ser Duncan the Tall, and his squire, Egg, wandered through Westeros while the Targaryen dynasty ruled the Iron Throne, and dragons were still remembered,' states IMDb. 'Great destinies and enemies await the incomparable friends.'
The Madison
Rounding off Luke's list is The Madison, an action drama crafted by Taylor Sheridan. 'It's my favourite of the year so far and available on Paramount+ where you can watch six episodes right now,' he said. He went on: 'It's already been confirmed for seasons two and three because it is literally that good. It's a really great story, but there's some great comedy aspects too plus the romance just gets you in your feels.' IMDb's synopsis of the show reads: 'A New York family's life unravels after a tragedy; they process their grief while vacationing in rural Montana, where they explore human connection amid their profound sorrow.' The Madison features Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell as Stacy and Preston Clyburn, Beau Garrett as Abigail Reese and Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh.
