Viewers Fume 'This Stagnant Show Needs to End' as Silo Teaser Drops

Viewers have expressed their frustration over the newly released teaser for the third season of the dystopian drama Silo, with many claiming the series 'needs to end'. The Apple TV+ show, based on Hugh Howey's trilogy of novels, is set in a future where humanity lives in a giant underground silo spanning 144 levels.

The teaser, posted on X (formerly Twitter), features Rebecca Ferguson as engineer Juliette Nichols and warns that 'the truth will surface'. However, fans took to the comments to share their discontent. One viewer wrote: 'Season 3 already? At this point SILO is just stretching confusion into multiple seasons. Let's hope this time they remember the plot exists before episode 6.' Another commented: 'Ya this show needs to end. These streaming shows need to wrap up in two seasons like British shows. Tell the story and wrap it up.' A third added: 'Underwhelming and stagnant 2nd season, I'm not coming back for 3.' A fourth said: 'God please let this be the last season, I don't think I have the patience to wait for another season after this one.'

Despite the criticism, many fans expressed excitement. One shared: 'We are so back. This is an incredible show. Can't wait to see all the twists and turns.' Another commented: 'Silo MIGHT be my favourite of the sci-fi shows on Apple TV. I cannot wait for this.' A third said: 'Silo has been such a smart, slow-burn sci-fi gem; can't wait to see how they unravel more of the mystery.'

The series has already been renewed for a fourth season, which will be its final outing. When it first aired in 2023, it received positive feedback from critics who praised the world-building and Ferguson's performance. Development of a film adaptation of Wool began in 2012 but was shelved before being picked up as a series by Apple TV+ in May 2021. Silo season 3 airs on Apple TV+ on July 3.
