Fans of Taylor Sheridan's expansive Yellowstone universe have a major new date for their diaries. The acclaimed creator's latest drama, The Madison, has officially locked in its premiere for 14 March, streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
A Star-Studded Montana Saga
This six-episode series represents Sheridan's most concise project to date, a departure from his usual eight or ten-episode seasons. It centres on the Clyburn family in Montana's Madison River valley, promising a deeply personal narrative exploring grief and human connection. Headlining the cast are Hollywood icons Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn and Kurt Russell as Preston Clyburn.
The ensemble is packed with talent, including Suits alum Patrick J. Adams, Lost star Matthew Fox, and Ben Schnetzer, whose portrayal of Sheriff Van Davis in first-look images has already set social media alight. The full cast list features Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, and Danielle Vasinova.
Production Already Wrapped on Season Two
In a significant vote of confidence, a second season was reportedly commissioned even before the first season's release date was announced. Filming for the follow-up began in September 2025, with production moving from Montana to Texas. Sequences for New York City were shot in Dallas, with later work taking place in Fort Worth and North Texas.
Actress Elle Chapman confirmed the completion of season two filming via Instagram in December 2025, posting: "And that's a wrap on season 2. Heart is full." This rapid turnaround has led to some uncertainty over whether the new episodes will be branded as a second series or the latter half of season one.
Franchise Expansion and Fan Reaction
The Madison marks the fifth instalment in the growing Yellowstone franchise, though it operates as a standalone story separate from the original series. Originally greenlit as an unnamed spin-off in May 2023, the project filmed in Montana during September and October 2024.
First-look images released by Paramount have generated considerable buzz online. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to praise the visuals, with one user commenting on a shot of Michelle Pfeiffer: "Beautiful shot. We're ready and waiting for you, Pfeiffer." Another reacted to Ben Schnetzer's sheriff, writing, "I will tune in for that sheriff alone!"
