Peter Crouch's Tube Blunder: Left £300K Jewellery Gift for Abbey Clancy on London Underground
Peter Crouch Forgets Wife's Pricey Birthday Gift on Tube

Former England footballer Peter Crouch faced an anxious moment last week after accidentally leaving his wife Abbey Clancy's 40th birthday present on the London Underground. The 44-year-old ex-striker misplaced a bag from the exclusive Mayfair jeweller Jessica McCormack, a brand known for diamond pieces costing up to £300,000.

A Costly Commuter Oversight

The mishap occurred following a visit to the luxury brand's boutique. While the exact contents of the bag remain unknown, the jeweller, which counts actress Zoe Kravitz as a spokesperson, specialises in high-end diamond creations. Fortunately, a vigilant fellow passenger discovered the forgotten item and promptly handed it to Transport for London staff before alerting the couple via Instagram.

Abbey, who celebrated her milestone birthday on January 10, reportedly replied to the message: 'Oh my God, it’s my birthday tomorrow. Must have been my present'. The Good Samaritan also shared a clip of the lost bag on TikTok, captioning it: 'POV: Peter Crouch leaves Abbey’s birthday present on the Tube'.

Parisian Perfection Makes Up for the Fumble

Any stress from the gift's brief disappearance was soon eclipsed by Crouch's grand romantic gesture. The footballer whisked his wife to Paris for her birthday, where she was completely surprised to find family and friends from across the globe waiting to celebrate with her.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the model and Britain's Next Top Model star heaped praise on her husband. She shared a heartfelt post alongside photos from the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. 'What a weekend for my 40th birthday,' she wrote. 'I feel so so loved thank you to my amazing husband and my wonderful family and friends who have travelled from all over the world to surprise me in Paris, love you all.'

The gallery included snaps of their hotel suite, elegant evening wear, and a celebratory dinner in a Paris restaurant. In one striking image, Abbey posed braless in a cream dress featuring a dramatic thigh-high slit.

Life in the Crouch Household

The incident comes as Abbey recently opened up about family life with Peter and their four children. She discussed her post-lockdown decision to cut back on alcohol after admitting she 'overdid the wine' during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her current routine involves early mornings, school runs, gym sessions, and dressage practice with her horse, Enzo.

The couple also co-host the popular podcast, The Therapy Crouch, recording it weekly. Abbey revealed that while she typically cooks dinner, Peter's culinary repertoire is limited to his signature 'Daddy's omelette', stuffed with fridge leftovers.

Reflecting on their lifestyle shift, she noted it was a world away from the intense 'WAG culture' days when Peter played for England. The pair are parents to daughters Sophia and Liberty, and sons Johnny and Jack.
