Influencer Lorna Luxe Faces Widowhood in Her 40s After Husband's Terminal Cancer
Lorna Luxe on becoming a widow in her 40s after husband's cancer

Fashion influencer and businesswoman Lorna Luxe has shared the heartbreaking reality that she expects to become a widow during her forties, following her husband John Andrews's terminal cancer diagnosis.

A Timeline of Treatment and Resilience

John Andrews, who is 21 years older than his 43-year-old wife, was diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer in April 2023. The couple, who have built a lucrative brand together, kept their 1.6 million followers updated throughout his journey, celebrating when he went into remission in November 2023.

In a tragic turn, the cancer returned in May 2024 and has since spread to his brain. Earlier this month, Lorna revealed that treatment was "no longer an option." John's health battle has been severe; before Christmas, he was rushed to hospital with organ failure and sepsis following a chemotherapy complication. Doctors advised Lorna to "prepare for the worst," but John proved to be a fighter and was home in time for Christmas.

Living with Uncertainty and Making Memories

In an interview with Fabulous magazine, Lorna confessed to the terrifying uncertainty they now face. "It's been quite scary because we don't know how long we've got," she said. "We know we’re on a timeline." The couple are now focused on making the most of their time together, treating themselves to special experiences and taking each day as it comes.

"I don't make long term plans," Lorna admitted. "Fundamentally, I’m probably going to be a widow at some point in my 40s and that’s a bit of a scary place to be for any woman." While John has urged them to get their financial "ducks in a row," Lorna stated they are not yet discussing funeral arrangements.

Building a Brand and Choosing a Child-Free Life

The couple's successful business was built on a significant gamble. Back in 2014, they accrued a staggering £300,000 in debt to fund designer clothes and travel, betting on Lorna's future as an influencer—far more than the £50k she had previously estimated. The risk paid off; Lorna now commands up to £80,000 for a single brand deal and lives with John in a £2.5 million Warwickshire home known as the Ghost House.

Despite their success, Lorna joked she is "basically skint," having reinvested £600,000 profits from her L.A. Space brand back into the business, with plans to expand into beauty.

The pair have also been open about their decision to remain child-free. Lorna revealed she tried for a baby in her twenties without success and later focused on her career while battling anorexia and bulimia in her thirties. She recently pondered the "what if" but concluded that having a child amid John's illness would feel like a "selfish move," especially with the prospect of raising a child alone.
