Comic Relief 2026 Unveils Hilarious Parody Sketches with Star-Studded Cast
Exclusive first-look images have been released for the upcoming Comic Relief sketches set to air later this year, showcasing a series of high-profile parodies that promise to bring laughter and support to the charity's Red Nose Day 2026 campaign. The sketches feature a mix of beloved comedians and television personalities stepping into iconic roles from film and reality TV.
Withering Heights: A Comic Twist on a Classic
In one of the standout sketches, comedians Katherine Ryan, 42, and John Richardson, 43, transform into Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff for a parody titled Withering Heights. This humorous take recreates the poster for the Emerald Fennell-directed movie released earlier this year, with both stars sporting the signature Comic Relief red noses. The duo pretends to gaze lovingly into each other's eyes, stepping into roles recently played by Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie in the original film.
The Bank Job: This Morning Hosts Turn to Crime
Meanwhile, This Morning co-hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary join forces in another sketch called The Bank Job. Instead of participating in an elaborate physical challenge, the duo attempts to rob a bank, but the heist takes an unexpected turn when their masks come off. They soon find themselves face-to-face with a group of other celebrities who had the same idea, including Stephen Mulhern, Shona McGarty, Natalie Cassidy, Niko Omilana, and Gladiators star Sheli McCoy, also known as Sabre.
The Traitors: The Movie - The Sequel: An All-Star Spoof
In a major highlight, an all-star cast has been assembled for a spoof of this year's hit reality show The Traitors, titled The Traitors: The Movie - The Sequel. The BBC has released first-look images that reveal an uncanny resemblance to the 2026 contestants. Anna Friel, 49, takes the helm as host Claudia Winkleman, while Vicky Pattison and Iain Stirling lead as winning Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby.
Gavin And Stacey's Alison Steadman portrays Fiona Hughes, the short-lived secret Traitor who wore the infamous red cloak but was banished early in the game. The Faithfuls are brought to life by a talented ensemble: Fleur East as the hapless Roxy Wilson, Strictly and Emmerdale star Lewis Cope as Jack Butler, Scott Mills as gardener James Baker, Amanda Redman MBE as former police detective Amanda Collier, and Jessica Hynes as the formidable crime writer and barrister Harriet Tyce.
This sketch will relive some of the most iconic moments from series four of The Traitors, with the real cast members, including Rachel, Stephen, Faraaz Noor, Fiona, Ross Garshong, Jade Scott, and Judy Wilson, making appearances alongside their celebrity counterparts. Ruby Wax will direct the sketch, adding her unique comedic touch.
Behind the Scenes: Stars Share Their Excitement
Anna Friel expressed her enthusiasm for the project, saying, 'We’re doing a sketch for Comic Relief, and I am playing Claudia Winkleman. Lots and lots of warm clothes for me today, I’ve had roll necks and coats and boots and fingerless gloves. Seeing Alison Steadman again was absolutely lovely, she played my mother in a drama we did together. Jessica Hynes is so funny and brilliant, and I watched The Traitors so seeing the series four cast was really gorgeous and they were all wonderful and warm – it’s been a really light and happy set. Comic Relief is a really worthy cause and beautiful campaign – Go get your Red Nose.'
Series four winner Rachel Duffy commented on Vicky Pattison playing her role, stating, 'I have a clone in Vicky Pattison which is really surreal. She does a killer Irish accent. When I heard we were doing a sketch of The Traitors I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t wait to find out who was going to play me.'
Vicky Pattison shared her nerves about participating, adding, 'I have been a supporter and champion of Comic Relief for years, however this does feel a little bit outside of my usual wheelhouse. I am not an actor, I am not Northern Irish, I think I’d rather be back in the Arctic or trekking or something so I am very scared.'
Comic Relief: Funny for Money will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and the BBC's YouTube Channel on Friday from 7pm, offering viewers a night of entertainment while raising funds for vital causes.
