Dua Lipa Celebrates at Star-Studded BRIT Awards Afterparty in Manchester
Dua Lipa enjoyed a vibrant night out on Saturday, dancing into the early hours at the Warner Music & Hennessy's BRIT Awards afterparty held at Cut and Craft in Manchester. The 30-year-old singer, who delivered a surprise performance earlier at the Co-op Live Arena, appeared happier than ever as she hit the dance floor with her childhood best friend, influencer Sarah Lysander.
The duo showcased their fun and coordinated moves in the centre of the crowded floor, sipping on lavish cocktails while the DJ played a series of remixed hits. Dressed in a sculpted black corset and figure-hugging skirt, Dua Lipa stunned attendees with her stylish ensemble. Later, the best friends captured the memorable evening by taking a series of playful selfies on the singer's iPhone near the DJ booth.
Star-Studded Guest List and Performances
The afterparty attracted a host of celebrities, including Romeo Beckham's girlfriend Kim Turnbull, Vogue Williams, Gene Gallagher, James Blunt, and AJ Odudu. Earlier in the evening, Dua Lipa joined producer Mark Ronson on stage to perform their hits "Dance The Night" and "Electricity." Ronson, a ten-time Grammy Award winner, was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award during the ceremony.
The 46th edition of the BRIT Awards marked its first time at Manchester's Co-op Live Arena, signalling a new era for the event. Comedian Jack Whitehall returned to host for the sixth time, crediting Manchester for shaping his early comedy career after studying at The University of Manchester.
Olivia Dean Dominates the Awards Ceremony
Olivia Dean emerged as the night's big winner, sweeping four awards in every category she was nominated for. The 26-year-old British singer and songwriter claimed Best Artist, Best Album for "The Art Of Loving," Best Song for "Man I Need," and Best Pop Act. She also became the first woman since Adele in 2021 to achieve the UK's No 1 single and album in the same week.
In contrast, Lily Allen did not take home any awards despite dominating the charts with her fifth studio album "West End Girl," which chronicled the collapse of her marriage to David Harbour. Allen, nominated eight times previously, has only ever won one BRIT award and did not attend this year's ceremony.
Special Tributes and Other Winners
Sharon Osbourne took to the stage to accept the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late husband Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last July. Supported by her daughter Kelly, Sharon delivered a heartfelt speech, praising Ozzy as a "true artist" and "working-class Brummie." The ceremony closed with an all-star rock tribute performance of "No More Tears," curated by Sharon and featuring Robbie Williams and former band members.
Other notable winners included Manchester-born Noel Gallagher, who received the Songwriter of the Year award, and Lola Young, who won the Breakthrough Artist award after a hiatus from music. British rapper Dave triumphed in the Hip Hop category, while Fred Again, Skepta, and PlaqueBoyMax won the Dance award. Sam Fender claimed Best Rock, and SAULT took home the R&B award.
International honours went to Geese for Best International Group and Rosalia for Best International Artist. The International Song of the Year was awarded to ROSE and Bruno Mars for "APT." Wolf Alice won Group of the Year, dedicating the award to those who supported them in their early years.
The BRIT Awards, traditionally held at London's O2 Arena, moved to Manchester this year under the stewardship of Sony Music UK, with plans to rotate locations across the UK in the future. This shift marks a significant change in the ceremony's history, reflecting a broader commitment to showcasing British music nationwide.
