Hulk Hogan Plays Trump Voicemail in Final Interview Before Death
Hulk Hogan Shares Trump Voicemail in Final Interview

Hulk Hogan, the legendary wrestling icon who passed away in July 2025 at age 71, shared a voicemail from former President Donald Trump during his final interview. The audio message is featured in the new four-part Netflix documentary series Hulk Hogan: Real American, which also includes a surprise interview with Trump filmed before Hogan's death.

Trump's Voicemail to Hogan

In the voicemail, Trump says: "Hulk, it's your all-time favorite president. I just wanted to tell you, you were unbelievable at the convention. Like, the talk of the town. We had, by the way, I don't know if you heard, the biggest ratings they've ever had for any of these things by far. Fox had the biggest ratings they've ever had, and you were the star."

Trump continues: "Nobody could do what you did, and entertain. We love having you on our side. You're a winner, man. You're a champ and a winner, and I think it was really good for you too, I have to tell you. Everyone was really impressed. Take care of yourself, thanks, bye."

Long-Standing Relationship

The documentary explores the decades-long friendship between Hogan and Trump. They first met in 1988 when Trump hosted Wrestlemania at the Trump Plaza hotel and casino in Atlantic City. Trump recalls: "I became friendly with the Hulkster... we had a good relationship, good chemistry."

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 but only publicly endorsed him after the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024. Trump notes: "He wanted to stay out of politics... He wanted to be politically correct, and he doesn't want to lose fans. I understand that... I think he regrets that."

RNC Appearance

Hogan's passionate endorsement at the 2024 Republican National Convention made global headlines. Trump recalls: "He did the shirt-ripping, he did the whole thing, and the place went crazy." The president adds: "Hulk was always very controversial. That's okay, I'm fairly controversial... but I don't think Hulk cares about that, and I don't care about that either."

Hulk Hogan: Real American is streaming now on Netflix.
