Kylie Jenner's BAFTA Confusion Over British Treats
At the BAFTA ceremony held at The Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday, host Alan Cumming introduced a quirky segment by handing out "very British snacks" to stars in the audience, leaving many, including Kylie Jenner, looking utterly perplexed. The 28-year-old billionaire make-up mogul was presented with a giant Jammy Dodger by the Scottish actor, 61, who is hosting the event for the first time. Kylie seemed confused by the iconic biscuit, which consists of two shortcake layers with a raspberry or strawberry jam filling and a distinctive heart-shaped hole in the centre.
Celebrity Reactions to Unfamiliar Snacks
Sitting beside Kylie was her boyfriend, BAFTA nominee Timothée Chalamet, 30, who received a packet of Scampi Fries, a popular British pub snack. Meanwhile, Emma Stone was given Hula Hoops crisps, prompting Alan to ask if she knew what they were. She replied, "No, but that sounds delightful." The host continued his snack distribution, offering Leonardo DiCaprio an Oaty Hobnob Flapjack from a woven picnic basket, while rapper Stormzy happily accepted his favourite, Skips. Hollywood actors Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale were handed Twiglets, with Alan joking that they seemed like "Twiglets kind of people" after Rose mentioned she was starving.
Timothée Chalamet's Distracted Behaviour
Earlier in the evening, Timothée Chalamet was spotted texting on his phone despite host Alan Cumming instructing the audience to turn off all electronic devices. The Hollywood star, nominated for Leading Actor in Marty Supreme, appeared disinterested in the ceremony, receiving multiple messages from a friend, including a meme of himself wearing the bold orange suit from the film's Los Angeles premiere in December. He later scrolled through his messages while chatting with Kylie, who wowed in a plunging black gown with silver jewelled detailing. The couple skipped the red carpet together, with Timothée walking it alone, but they later sat hand-in-hand during the awards.
BAFTA Winners and Highlights
During the awards, Timothée Chalamet shockingly missed out on the Leading Actor award, which went to British star Robert Aramayo for his portrayal in I Swear. The night kicked off with Alan Cumming humorously asking the audience to turn off all electronic devices except for pacemakers and "ozempic alarms." Among the early winners was Wunmi Mosaku, star of Sinners, who tearfully accepted her award and praised director Ryan Coogler for winning Best Original Screenplay. She highlighted his humility and collaborative spirit, noting that he credits everyone involved in the film.
The EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 saw One Battle After Another leading with 14 nominations, including one for Leonardo DiCaprio, while Hamnet broke records for the most nominations for a female-directed film in BAFTA history. Other notable winners included Sinners for Original Screenplay and Robert Aramayo for the EE Rising Star Award, voted by the public. The event showcased a blend of Hollywood glamour and British eccentricity, with snacks adding a light-hearted touch to the prestigious ceremony.
