Rylan Clark Faces Strictly Hosting Hurdle Amid New BBC Show
Rylan Clark's Strictly Dream Hits Hurdle Over BBC Show

Rylan Clark is reportedly facing a significant obstacle in his pursuit of a hosting role on Strictly Come Dancing, as his other BBC show is set to return. The television personality is considered one of the leading candidates to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who both stepped down from the popular dance competition after the last series.

Strictly Hosting Contenders

The BBC is actively seeking new presenters for Strictly Come Dancing following the departure of Daly and Winkleman. Several names have been suggested as potential replacements, including Rylan Clark, Zoe Ball, and Graham Norton. However, as auditions are reportedly about to commence, Clark faces a major hurdle related to his existing commitments.

Dating Naked UK Returns

A source revealed to The Sun that Clark's show Dating Naked UK has been renewed for a third series, which is a significant achievement. However, the scheduling conflict poses a challenge. The insider stated: "Rylan's show Dating Naked UK is coming back. This is really exciting news for him. It means he's got a hit on his hands as reaching a third series is a real milestone for any programme. But it's hard to see how he will film both. Planning for Dating Naked is in the very, very early stages so getting a full-scale shoot in the can before August, when they also need to find a full cast of singles, is very unlikely. Whoever hosts the new series of Strictly will have commitments from August right through to the end of the year."

Bookmakers' Favourite

Additionally, bookmakers are tipping Rylan Clark as the favourite to take over from Zoe Ball on her Drivetime show, following Ball's move to Scott Mills' BBC breakfast show. This further complicates his availability for Strictly Come Dancing.

Departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from Strictly Come Dancing together, with both reflecting on their time with the show. Daly wrote: "After 21 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye to Strictly Come Dancing. It's hard to put into words what this show has meant to me... Strictly has been more than just a television programme. It's felt like having a third child, a second family, and a huge part of my life since that very first show back in 2004."

Claudia Winkleman added: "Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake tanned train and it's been a privilege to be a tiny part of it. The extraordinary talent of the dancers, the band, the hair and makeup and costume teams, the unbelievable production crew and creatives - all utterly amazing. I've always believed it's best to leave a party before you're fully ready to go and I know the new hosts will be magnificent."

The search for the next hosts of Strictly Come Dancing continues, with Rylan Clark's schedule presenting a key challenge to his candidacy.
