Tom Grennan Withdraws from Trans Mission Concert Due to Family Bereavement
Tom Grennan Pulls Out of Trans Mission Concert

British singer Tom Grennan has withdrawn from his scheduled performance at the Trans Mission concert at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, citing a family bereavement. The 30-year-old artist was set to join headliners including Olly Alexander, Beverly Knight, and Adam Lambert for the fundraising event supporting transgender organisations.

Last-Minute Cancellation Announced on Social Media

In a statement posted to his Instagram Stories, Grennan expressed regret about his absence from the concert. He wrote: 'Due to a family bereavement I will sadly no longer be playing Trans Mission live this evening! I wish everyone involved a successful night and if you can get down, there's still some tickets available.'

Trans Mission: A Night of Solidarity

The Trans Mission concert was organised by Olly Alexander and Mighty Hoopla as 'a night of solidarity' for the transgender community. This comes in response to recent legal developments, including a Supreme Court ruling that defined men and women by biological sex.

Olly Alexander previously told Metro: 'There are many loud anti-trans voices across the media, and we have a government that has rowed back on its commitments to LGBT+ people too, as part of a broader attack on the rights and safety of marginalised communities. My hope is that Trans Mission will be a bold statement of unity and solidarity – that we have a voice too, and we're going to use it for something joyful and positive.'

Recent Personal Milestones for Grennan

The concert cancellation follows significant personal developments for the singer. Grennan recently shared the first photograph of his baby daughter Dottie, whom he secretly welcomed with his wife Danniella Carraturo earlier this year.

In August, Grennan announced that his latest album had reached number one while simultaneously revealing his new fatherhood status. He described becoming a parent as 'the greatest gift I could ever imagine' in an emotional social media post.

Family and Career Highlights

Grennan married Pilates instructor Danniella Carraturo in May 2024 at a luxurious estate in Majorca. The couple first met in a lift in 2020, separated temporarily, then reconciled during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.

A source close to the couple told The Sun: 'Tom and Danniella welcomed Dottie earlier this year and they're absolutely besotted with her. It's been massive becoming parents but they've taken to it like ducks to water and are so happy. To become a dad to Dottie was the best thing to happen to Tom.'

The singer's career continues to flourish with three consecutive number one albums, placing him in an elite group of artists including The Beatles and Oasis. Grennan has expressed gratitude to his fans for their support and excitement about his upcoming tour in September.
