According to a statement from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, a 37-year-old woman was shot after she allegedly attempted to ram ICE officers with her car. McLaughlin stated the woman acted 'in an attempt to kill them'.
The DHS characterised the woman's actions in strong terms, asserting she had 'weaponized her vehicle' and labelling the event an 'act of domestic terrorism'. The woman died at the scene after the shooting and subsequent crash.
