Missing Girl, 5, Believed Abducted in Australian Outback

A five-year-old girl is believed to have been abducted from her family home in the Australian outback, prompting a major police search. Sharon Granites was last seen at approximately 11:30pm on Saturday at her residence in Old Timers Camp, Alice Springs, located in Australia's Northern Territory. She was reported missing to authorities at 1:35am on Sunday.

Police Investigation Underway

Northern Territory Police Acting Commander Mark Grieve stated that a man who had been staying at the camp and disappeared around the same time could be connected to the disappearance. Authorities are actively searching for this individual as part of their investigation. Commander Grieve described the situation as a "terrible situation to have such a young child go missing" and a parent's "worst nightmare."

Appeal for Information

Police have urged anyone with information regarding Sharon's whereabouts or the man in question to come forward and contact law enforcement immediately. The community is on high alert as the search continues across the remote region.
