Sergeant Jack Swindles of Police Scotland stated: 'At around 5:30 PM on Saturday, April 25, police received a report of two children being struck by a car on Johnston Street, Paisley. Emergency services attended, and a six-year-old girl was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A seven-year-old girl was taken to hospital for treatment.'
