Renee Good's Final Words Video Sparks US Outrage

Shocking new footage has been released showing the final moments of Renee Nicola Good, a 37-year-old mother-of-three, before she was shot by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. The video, which appears to have been captured on the officer's own device, has ignited a fierce national debate and protests in Minneapolis.

The Final Moments and Conflicting Accounts

The newly published video, released by website Alpha News, shows an escalating encounter on Wednesday, 7th January 2026. In the clip, Renee Good is heard telling an immigration agent, "that's fine, dude, I'm not mad at you." Moments later, she is seen steering her car to the right and pulling away from the officer.

As she moves, the ICE agent opens fire. One bullet strikes the windscreen, while a second and third are fired through her open side window as the vehicle passes. Her car then sped off, colliding with a lamppost and parked cars. Campaigners argue the footage contradicts official claims that Ms Good was intentionally trying to run the officer over.

Political Firestorm and Official Response

The incident has caused significant political division. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former President Donald Trump have described the shooting as an act of self-defence, alleging Ms Good used her vehicle as a weapon. Secretary Noem went further, labelling the event an "act of domestic terrorism."

US Vice President JD Vance stated the shooting was justified, calling Ms Good a "victim of left-wing ideology" and a tragedy of her own making. He defended the agent, citing absolute immunity for federal officers engaged in law enforcement.

In stark opposition, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey dismissed the self-defence argument as "garbage," a sentiment echoed by hundreds of protesters who braved freezing rain to march through the city streets. Demonstrators chanted "ICE out now" and carried placards demanding justice.

Community Reaction and Ongoing Fallout

The video also captures a person believed to be Ms Good's partner confronting officers, stating they were US citizens and former veterans. The partner is heard saying, "They'll still be the same plates when you come talk to us later."

One protester, Caroline, 46, told NBC: "It’s obviously not safe here. They are attacking our neighbours. This is our community. This is America. This is Minnesota." The Department of Homeland Security maintains its officer acted appropriately, alleging an individual in the vehicle attempted to run over federal personnel.

Within minutes of the footage's release, Vice President Vance claimed it supported his version of events, accusing the press of lying about an "innocent law enforcement officer." The case continues to highlight deep tensions surrounding immigration enforcement and police accountability in the United States.
