Arsenal Urged to Sell Martinelli and Trossard as £130m Double Raid Looms
Arsenal Urged to Sell Martinelli and Trossard

Arsenal's focus remains on winning their first Premier League title since 2004, but attention is already turning to the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta has been urged to sell two key attackers as the club plots a £130m double raid on Sporting CP.

Gallas Calls for Martinelli and Trossard Exit

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has advised his old club to part ways with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Speaking to BoyleSports, Gallas criticised Arsenal's style of play, suggesting it hinders striker Viktor Gyokeres.

He said: "When Arsenal play on the counter-attack, the midfielders must look for Gyokeres early. He asks for the ball in space but doesn't get it because Arsenal's midfielders want to keep possession. That is their style."

Gallas added: "Gyokeres hasn't scored enough goals. He needs at least 20 next season, but it will be tough if Arsenal play the same way. He doesn't dominate physically like he did in Portugal. Maybe you need a left winger because Martinelli has declined, and Trossard is a good squad player but you need more."

Double Raid on Sporting CP

Arsenal are reportedly targeting Sporting CP duo Maxi Araujo and Ivan Fresneda. Araujo, a left-back, impressed in the Champions League tie against Arsenal. Fresneda, a right-back, also caught the eye during the first leg in Portugal.

According to Record, Arsenal have initiated talks for Araujo, who could cost around £51m, though his release clause is £69m. The Sun claims Fresneda is also on the radar, with a similar £69m release clause. Both players have been scouted extensively.

Arsenal's summer window could see significant changes as Arteta looks to strengthen the squad for another title push.
