Instagram influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, widely recognized by her online moniker Klaudiaglam, has tragically passed away following a collision with a motor vehicle outside a nightclub in Soho. The 30-something model and social media personality had been hospitalized in critical condition after she and two other pedestrians were struck in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Court Appearance and Charges
Gabrielle Carrington, a 29-year-old former X Factor finalist from Manchester, appeared in court on Tuesday facing accusations of attempting to murder Zakrzewska after an alleged altercation outside the Inca nightclub. Carrington, who reached the live finals of the talent show in 2013 as part of the girl group Miss Dynamix, was charged on Monday night with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drink driving—approximately 36 hours following the incident.
Following Zakrzewska's death, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the charge of attempted murder will be amended to murder.
Police Statement
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the investigation, expressed deep sympathies to Zakrzewska's family and friends. She urged the public to refrain from speculation and not to share graphic footage out of respect for the deceased and to avoid prejudicing court proceedings.
Details of the Incident
Zakrzewska, who was born in Poland and boasted 258,000 followers on Instagram, had been at the Inca nightclub prior to the crash. Disturbing footage circulating on social media appears to show her becoming trapped beneath the vehicle as bystanders rushed to assist.
A close friend of Zakrzewska posted a heart-wrenching message on Instagram, describing the pain of witnessing the incident and urging people to stop twisting the narrative.
Other Victims
The court heard that security worker Anoush Chyche, aged in his 50s, suffered life-changing injuries, while a third woman, Latisha Armstrong, in her 30s, sustained minor wrist injuries. Over a dozen family members and friends of both Carrington and Zakrzewska attended the hearing, packed into the public gallery alongside court security guards.
Court documents revealed that Carrington was above the legal drink-drive limit at the time of her arrest, with 61 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. District Judge Nina Tempia remanded her in custody.
