Lorna Luxe Opens Up About Learning to Pay Bills After Husband's Death
Lorna Luxe on Life After Husband John's Death

Lorna Luxe has revealed that she has had to 'learn how to pay bills' as she adjusts to life following the tragic death of her husband, John. The 43-year-old influencer, who lost her husband to stage four adrenal cancer in February, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a candid post after recently moving into a stunning new rental home.

A New Chapter After Loss

Lorna previously lived in the famous £2.5 million Ghost House with John, but they had to vacate the property last year due to flooding. In the candid clip, she opened up about having to establish a new routine as a widow after years of her beloved John 'doing everything' for her.

'It's been two years since John died and in that time, I've had to move house, work out how to pay bills, teach myself to cook because he did everything,' she said. Lorna also spoke about loneliness and how she misses John sitting beside her while she applied her make-up.

Adjusting to Widowhood

Lorna later joked about the price of hiring a window cleaner for her new rental home, which features all-glass walls. Then, she heartbreakingly admitted: 'I wish John was here to negotiate a good price, actually I wish he was here full stop.'

She has been taking her 1.8 million followers on a tour of her new £2 million rental, located just down the road from where she and John lived. The property boasts an incredible kitchen and glass hallways with stunning views of the surrounding trees.

Lorna wrote: 'John would be so proud of me for sorting this house. It's been an absolute nightmare, but me and Kev Bear [their dog] are very happy here and it's nicer than the old rental we were in.' She added: 'I've whacked all my stuff in storage so it's a bit disorientating for Kev-bear. We moved in with a suitcase of clothes, a corkscrew and a kettle... I hadn't anticipated having to move out of our last place so this has all been a bit stressful but you know what, John would be so proud that I pulled it off and found me and Bear an even better gaff to 'temporarily' call home.'

A Sweet Connection to John

The house she now lives in was designed by the same architects who designed Ghost House, BPN Architects, and it is similar in design. Ghost House is a veritable James Bond villain bunker, entirely in 5,000 sq ft of exposed concrete, entered through a black reflecting pool. The entire first floor is the main bedroom, with all concrete and an en suite that only Lorna used, plus a cinema room. The new property is also designed to look 'invisible' and is a single-storey home arranged as a cluster of seven individual pods scattered across the site, each joined by a glazed corridor.

Lorna said that John gave her a list of rules to ensure her safety after his death, including not wearing the 15-carat engagement ring he bought her. She has stored it away in another property for safekeeping because he didn't want her to be a target.

John and Lorna met when she was 25 during her eight-year stint as a flight attendant with Virgin Atlantic. He gave up his career as a banker to build a brand with her, racking up £300,000 worth of debt when they started, but having such huge belief in her that he had no doubt she would become a success. Lorna has also revealed that she was considering having children after John's tragic death.
