Magda Szubanski Warns Fans of Online Scam

Magda Szubanski has issued a warning to fans after being targeted in another online hoax. The 65-year-old Kath & Kim star took to Instagram on Friday to expose a 'bulls***' health scam that used both her name and celebrity GP Dr Ginni Mansberg to lure unsuspecting individuals into buying products.

Szubanski's Warning

'Hi peeps, it's bulls*** scam alert time again,' she said in a video clip. 'I have never met Dr Ginni Mansberg, let alone had a conversation in public or in private with her about how, when, where, why, how often I wee.' She continued, 'There's something going around on the internet. It's just a scam trying to flog some product called Vital Hemp. It's all bulls***.'

Szubanski urged her followers not to believe everything they see online. 'The rule of thumb, I would say, is if you want to know if something is true or whether I've said it, come to my Instagram page and that's where I put my posts,' she said. 'This is very annoying and I really hope you haven't wasted your money. Happy Friday, love you all.'

Dr Mansberg Also a Victim

In the post's caption, Szubanski clarified that Dr Mansberg was also a victim of the scam. 'Dr Ginni is NOT the perpetrator!! She's being used just like me,' she wrote.

This marks the third time this year that Szubanski has been the subject of online hoaxes. In January, she issued an urgent warning after an AI-generated image of a woman resembling her lying in a hospital bed was used to swindle supporters. She stressed that the image was fake and urged fans not to donate to any medical fundraiser purporting to be her.

In February, Szubanski was the victim of another hoax that falsely claimed she had died. A photo of her was shared with a fake tribute stating she had passed away in 2026. Followers quickly identified the hoax, noting that her death would be widely reported in the news.

Szubanski, who announced in May last year that she was battling Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer, revealed in February that she was in remission after completing chemotherapy. 'It's not a cure, but if I've got a good remission, hopefully that will mean I'll be able to keep the cancer at bay for a good long time,' she said.
