Scarlett Moffatt has been hailed as the true victor of I'm A Celebrity South Africa following her elimination, after securing a substantial television deal with ITV. The 35-year-old pregnant star was voted off during Thursday night's episode after finishing last in a trial, leaving Mo Farah, Harry Redknapp, Adam Thomas, and Craig Charles to compete for the Legend title.
Immediate Career Boost
Despite missing out on the final, Scarlett has already been handpicked by ITV for an upcoming major project, with filming expected to commence shortly. She is balancing multiple commitments after announcing her second pregnancy earlier this week. Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'I have got something coming up with ITV and I've just done a photoshoot in Barcelona. It's been a whirlwind recently; it feels like the first time I came out of the jungle ten years ago — the same thing is happening again.'
From Gogglebox to Primetime
Scarlett first rose to fame on Gogglebox before winning I'm A Celebrity in 2016 at age 25. Her popularity led to co-hosting Saturday Night Takeaway with Ant and Dec, hosting Channel 4's Streetmate, and presenting I'm a Celeb spin-off Extra Camp. After welcoming her first son Jude in June 2023, she stepped back from the limelight, but the all-stars series has catapulted her back into the spotlight. A source revealed: 'Her diary is packed with offers but she's thrilled to have a big new project with ITV booked.'
Emotional Exit
Appearing on Friday's live finale, Scarlett joined her fellow campmates. She told Ant and Dec: 'It would be nice to have some oestrogen in the room,' referring to the all-male final. After being eliminated in the trial Keep Your Eye on the Ball, she said: 'I'm gutted that it's four blokes left. I wanted to do it for the girls!' Viewers expressed frustration on social media, with one writing: 'Raging for Scarlett as she comes across as a genuine person and was fun in camp.' Another said: 'Hate this format of the show. These trials have been so harsh.'
Reflections on Her Jungle Journey
Scarlett broke down in tears upon learning she had the furthest from the correct total in the trial. Reflecting on her second stint, she said: 'Last time I felt like a bit of an imposter. I was only twenty-five, I didn't really know where my place was... Whereas this time around, I know who I am so I just enjoyed it and went in there less intimidated.' She added: 'The campfire chats are what I'm going to miss the most. Sir Mo Farah is such an amazing soul. I think he's made me a better person.'
Scarlett expressed her wish for Mo to win, stating: 'Even if I'd got into the final, I'd have said to people, 'If you were thinking of voting for me, you should vote for Mo.' Nobody deserves it as much as him.'
The finale saw Adam Thomas crowned Jungle Legend amid a tense atmosphere, with the series marked by bullying rows and feuds among cast members.
