Victoria Beckham was less than amused when she became the target of a joke at the star-studded Time100 Gala in New York. She and her husband, Sir David Beckham, were jointly featured on this year's list and exuded megawatt showbiz glamour at the celebratory event held at Lincoln Center.
However, when comedian Nikki Glaser took the stage, she skewered Victoria's well-known habit of posing with a severe expression. Glaser remarked, "One of the most impressive people on the list is Victoria Beckham, of course. She was a global pop star, now a serious fashion designer. She’s married to David Beckham. She’s rich, successful, stunning – what’s it gonna take to get you to smile? I mean, really, please, smile! You’re one of the only British people who should." The comment drew laughter from the audience.
Victoria, 52, responded with a pinched, forced-looking half-smile, while David, 50, sat beside her, grinning and chuckling nervously. The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for the Beckhams for comment.
Victoria cut an ethereal figure at the event, draped in an off-white silk gown that highlighted her slender figure, achieved through a diet David described as consisting almost entirely of grilled fish and steamed vegetables. David, who was knighted by King Charles in November, glowed as he posed proudly beside his wife in a classic suit and tie.
