Vogue Williams has spoken out after being subjected to a brutal online trolling campaign that included comparisons to Donald Trump. The 40-year-old presenter, who recently announced she is expecting her fourth child with husband Spencer Matthews, revealed the abuse has been ongoing for over two years.
Podcast Revelation
Speaking on the Vogue and Amber podcast, Williams told listeners about a woman who has been sending her abusive messages since 2023. She read out one particularly vicious example: "You're an image of Donald Trump, you must be related to him with that mouth of yours. Greed is a terrible thing."
After Williams tagged beauty editor Triona McCarthy in a post, the troll escalated, targeting her appearance: "Triona might give you some tips on improving your looks, werewolf eyebrows, a horn on your face and gums galore."
Unusual Response
Rather than publicly shaming the troll, Williams decided to contact mutual acquaintances to alert them to the behaviour. "I was going to blast her, but I thought I don't think I'll do that," she explained. "I just think letting their family know... Imagine you found out by somebody that I had been sending these rotten messages to them, you'd be like, 'Oh my God, I thought I knew you but I don't.'"
She added that the troll must be deeply "unhappy" to engage in such toxic behaviour online.
Previous Encounters
This is not the first time the former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star has addressed online abuse. In February, a social media user accused her of "leeching off men" for money and exposure. Williams hit back, saying: "Go check MY company accounts and then come back and tell me I'm leeching off men. See you at the parade hun!"
She added: "I'm sick of seeing horrible cr** on the internet and people just abusing other people because they feel like it. This person should practice being a nice person a bit more."
