NFL Draft Bombshell Hinted by Insider Glazer Hours Before

With just a few hours to go until the Las Vegas Raiders make the first pick in this year's NFL Draft, an insider has hinted a bombshell could be about to drop.

The NFL Draft officially gets underway at 8pm ET on Thursday night from Pittsburgh as teams battle to secure the best prospects from college football.

It is widely assumed that Tom Brady's Raiders will use their No. 1 overall pick to select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza inside the main theater outside Acrisure Stadium.

While 16 other players will enjoy the on-site festivities and have the opportunity to give NFL commissioner Goodell a giant hug on stage, Mendoza is spending the night with his family in Miami. His mother, Elsa Mendoza, has multiple sclerosis so traveling is difficult.

After that, however, there are a number of question marks hovering over teams and players. To add to the uncertainty, Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer has hinted a big twist is coming.

'I know something that's going on, I just can't say it yet because I was told you can't say it until kind of getting on the clock there,' Glazer said on 'Wake Up Barstool'. NFL insider Jay Glazer has hinted a huge bombshell could be set to drop during the draft. People rehearse ahead of the NFL Draft outside Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Thursday. The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to take Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick.

Glazer has a long track record of breaking NFL stories and is extremely well connected so his claim has left fans on the edge of their seats.

The uncertainty in the first round begins with the second overall pick because the New York Jets are torn between Ohio State's Arvell Reese and David Bailey of Texas Tech.

Then, the Arizona Cardinals have been linked to picking star running back Jeremiyah Love but word is they would also be willing to give up their No. 3 pick in a trade for other draft picks.

Among the teams linked to potential trades are the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams.

Elsewhere, the New York Giants now have two picks in the top 10 after trading away Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Other interesting storylines include where the likes of Caleb Downs, Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson end up.

Aside from Mendoza going to the Raiders, there are a number of fascinating scenarios that could play out during the first round on Thursday night. But it could be a while until another quarterback is selected.

Alabama's Ty Simpson is expected to be the next one. He's among the group of players in attendance and there's a chance he might have to wait until round two on Friday night.

The first round should be about an hour faster than it's been because the time between picks was shortened from 10 minutes to eight minutes.

A total of 257 players will live out a dream and hear their name called over the course of the next three days.
