Why Scottie Scheffler Is Skipping Truist Championship for PGA Prep
Why Scottie Scheffler Is Skipping Truist Championship

Scottie Scheffler will not compete at the 2026 Truist Championship as the world number one takes a scheduled week off to prepare for the upcoming PGA Championship. The tournament returns to Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, running from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10.

Why Scheffler Is Sitting Out

The American star, who recently played at the Cadillac Championship, is following his usual strategy of avoiding competition the week before a major. He is set to defend the CJ Cup the week after the PGA Championship, which begins May 14. Scheffler’s absence is part of a planned rest period after a demanding start to the 2026 season.

Other Notable Withdrawal

Collin Morikawa also pulled out on Monday due to ongoing back issues, hoping to recover in time for the PGA Championship. His late withdrawal, alongside Scheffler’s, thins the field but the event remains star-studded.
