And after so many years, of course also being one of the oldest in the squad, the time has come for me to share all this experience," he stated.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola offered his own perspective on the matter, confirming that he has not directly discussed contract terms with the player. "I want the best for Bernardo," Guardiola said. "If he wants to stay, I will be more than delighted but I don't talk about that subject with him and all I want is the best for his family."
The Catalan coach went on to deliver glowing praise for Silva, highlighting his intelligence and resilience. "He is one of the most clever players I have ever met," Guardiola expressed, detailing Silva's ability to manage game tempo and spatial awareness.
Guardiola also recalled Silva's dedication during a physically challenging previous season. "Bernardo struggled last season, but he was there. Every. Single. Game. Exhausted," he remembered, noting this commitment was a key reason Silva was handed the captain's armband for this campaign.
