Newsboy's Tuesday Racing Tips: Grenadier Jed Nap at Chepstow
Newsboy's Tuesday Racing Tips: Chepstow Nap

Tuesday brings a full schedule of horse racing action across three meetings, with Newsboy providing his expert selections for Chepstow, Newcastle, and Wolverhampton. The racing tipster has identified his standout nap of the day at Chepstow, alongside a strong next best pick at Newcastle to complete a promising daily double.

Chepstow Nap: Grenadier Jed Expected to Shine

At Chepstow, which hosts a seven-race jumping card, Newsboy's nap selection is Grenadier Jed in the 2.02 Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series Handicap Hurdle. The six-year-old, trained by Robert Walford, is fancied to relish the challenge against eleven rivals over a distance of approximately two miles and three furlongs.

Grenadier Jed has previously demonstrated his ability at this trip, securing three hurdle race victories at Taunton (twice) and Fontwell. His most recent outing saw him fall at Plumpton 57 days ago, where he blundered at the seventh hurdle while positioned among the leaders as the 9-4 favourite.

Prior to that setback, the son of Frontiersman delivered an impressive performance at Fontwell, winning readily by three and a half lengths from Keep Running, with Brave Knight a further seven lengths back in third. The form of that race has since been strongly franked, with both Keep Running and Brave Knight going on to win their subsequent races at Sandown and Taunton respectively.

Newsboy suggests that Grenadier Jed may still be ahead of the handicapper's assessment and, under regular rider Harry Kimber, should be prominently involved in the finish on Tuesday.

Newcastle Next Best: Pitwood Road to Defy Top Weight

At Newcastle, Newsboy's next best selection is Pitwood Road in the 3.00 Mini Golf at High Gosforth Park Mares' Handicap Hurdle. The eight-year-old mare, trained by Nicky Richards, arrives in excellent form and is expected to overcome the burden of top weight.

Her most recent performance saw her stay on strongly to win a handicap hurdle at Carlisle, holding off Always A Reason, who has since gone on to score at Newcastle earlier this month. The extra furlong in Tuesday's race should suit Pitwood Road even better, particularly with Danny McMenamin taking the ride.
