Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded: Release Date, Huge 174GB Update & New Content
Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded: Release Date & Details

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players are set for a substantial mid-season injection of fresh content as Season 1 Reloaded prepares to go live. This significant update marks the halfway point of the game's first season, bringing a host of new features, including maps, weapons, and game mode tweaks designed to reinvigorate the multiplayer and Zombies experience.

Season 1 Reloaded Start Time And Substantial File Size

The update is scheduled to begin on Thursday, 8 January 2026. Following the established pattern for Call of Duty titles, the rollout is expected to commence at approximately 5 PM GMT. Players should note that pre-loading the update does not appear to be an option, meaning a wait for the download to complete is inevitable before jumping back into the action.

That download could be a lengthy one. Early reports indicate the Season 1 Reloaded update could be as large as 174GB. It is crucial to understand that this figure is not fixed for all users; the final download size will vary depending on how many previous Call of Duty titles are already installed on your system.

New Maps, Mode, And Weapons

The core of any multiplayer refresh lies in its new battlegrounds, and Season 1 Reloaded delivers three new 6v6 maps. The fresh additions are Yakei, Meltdown, and the returning fan-favourite Fringe from Black Ops 3. Yakei will also support 2v2 gameplay modes.

Accompanying the maps is a brand-new objective mode called Takeover. Described as a hybrid of Domination and Hardpoint, this mode features three capture points that dynamically shift to different locations on the map throughout the match, demanding constant adaptation from teams.

Armouries will also expand with two new firearms: the Hawker HX sniper rifle and the Sturmwolf 45 submachine gun. These will be unlockable by completing specific seasonal event challenges. Furthermore, three new weapon attachments—the Coda 9 Adaptive Discharge Mod, M8A1 Full Auto Conversion, and MCP-25 Contrabloom Laser—will be available via weekly challenges.

Endgame, Zombies, And A Major Crossover Event

The post-campaign Endgame mode receives new content to boost replayability. Season 1 Reloaded introduces the Wraith Ring World Event and a Phantom Skill Track, offering renewed incentives for players to dive back into its evolving missions.

Zombies enthusiasts are not left out. The Astra Malorum map will receive a Directed Mode, providing a more streamlined path for players seeking to experience its narrative. Additionally, a new survival experience arrives with the Zarya Cosmodrome map.

Finally, a major crossover event is on the horizon, tying into the popular Fallout television series. Teasers on social media platform X have hinted at in-game character models for Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus. These themed items are anticipated to appear in the in-game store shortly after the Season 1 Reloaded update goes live on 8 January.
