Liverpool are reportedly not pursuing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven this summer, contrary to earlier speculation linking the Reds with the Dutch international.
Transfer Rumors Dismissed
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that neither Liverpool nor Barcelona are planning to sign Van de Ven, despite reports from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf suggesting both clubs had made approaches. Tottenham consider the 25-year-old a key player and have no intention of selling him this window.
Spurs Strengthen Defense
The speculation comes after Tottenham completed the signing of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for around £52 million, further solidifying their backline.
Liverpool's Defensive Situation
Liverpool currently have four senior center-backs: Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Giovanni Leoni, and new arrival Jeremy Jacquet. Ibrahima Konate left on a free transfer to Real Madrid, fueling rumors of a new defender, but Leoni is recovering from an ACL injury and Jacquet from a shoulder issue.
New Signing Confirmed
Liverpool have already added Victory Munoz from Osasuna for £34.5 million, with the versatile forward signing a six-year contract. New manager Andoni Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot, is preparing for his first season.
