Aldi Australia's Coffee and Wine Triumph at Global Competitions
Aldi Australia Wins Gold in Global Coffee and Wine Contests

Aldi Australia has once again demonstrated its prowess on the international stage, with its renowned coffee beans securing first prize at the esteemed Golden Bean World Series. The supermarket's highly popular Lazzio Luxe Blend Premium Coffee Beans, priced at $29.99, claimed the gold medal in the Large Franchise Espresso category. This cost translates to just 30 cents per cup, offering exceptional value compared to the average price of a store-bought brew projected for 2026.

A Double Victory in Coffee Excellence

In addition to the gold win, Aldi's $17.99 Lazzio Medium Coffee Beans were awarded the silver medal in the Large Franchise Milk category. The Golden Bean competition is recognized as the world's largest coffee roasting contest, with this year's World Series held in Newcastle, New South Wales. The grand final featured bronze, silver, and gold medalists from regional competitions across Australasia, The Americas, and East Asia, all vying for the ultimate title.

Over one hundred industry representatives served as expert judges for the event, ensuring a rigorous evaluation process. Aldi regulars are likely unsurprised by this recognition, as they have long praised the high quality and delicious flavor of Lazzio beans. This latest accolade builds on the brand's impressive track record, including gold medals in the 'Overall Large Chain Champion' category for Australasia in multiple years such as 2025, 2024, 2022, 2021, and 2020.

Wine Success at Melbourne Competition

Aldi's excellence extends beyond coffee, as the bargain supermarket chain also emerged victorious at the Melbourne International Wine Competition. At the ceremony, Aldi Australia garnered an astonishing 18 awards for wines available nationwide in its stores. Remarkably, every winning bottle retails for under $14, making premium wine accessible to a broad audience.

The standout winner was the South Point Estate Pinot Grigio, which earned a gold award and is priced at a rock-bottom $4.59. Produced in central Victoria, South Point Estate is a private label wine sold exclusively at Aldi. Described as crisp with a pale color and fruity aroma, it is ideal for enjoying during warmer months.

The Melbourne International Wine Competition is judged by a panel of four qualified trade buyers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, retail spirits buyers, distributors, and importers, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of each entry. This dual triumph in both coffee and wine underscores Aldi's commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable products to consumers, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the retail sector.
