Aldi customers are reportedly 'running' to their local stores to get their hands on a unique and affordable edible Christmas decoration that is causing a stir on social media.
The Festive Find Everyone Wants
The product in question is the Specially Selected Chocolate Place Settings, priced at just £4.99. The pack contains a 200g slab of Belgian milk chocolate and comes with four sheets of gold or bronze transfer paper.
Aldi explains that hosts can simply place the transfer paper over the chocolate and write their guests' names directly onto it, creating a personalised and sweet welcome for everyone around the Christmas table.
Shoppers Are Raving Online
The edible decor has generated significant excitement, particularly on Facebook and TikTok. A shopper named Daniel Christopher Chubb shared the find in the popular 'Snack Reviews' group, where his post attracted hundreds of likes and comments.
Reactions were overwhelmingly positive. One user declared, 'I'm buying just to eat the slabs of chocolate,' while another simply called them 'Cute.' Other comments included 'Omg we need some of these for Christmas' and 'Love these for the table at Christmas,' highlighting the product's perceived perfection for festive hosting.
On TikTok, user @lifewithjenn.x showcased the place settings in a video that gained thousands of views, with viewers commenting 'Oh need these' and 'This is SUCH a cute idea!'
Not Without Its Critics
Despite the widespread praise, a few potential drawbacks were noted by savvy shoppers. One concerned commenter questioned, 'But these would melt? Surely,' pointing to a practical consideration for warm dining rooms.
Another shopper expressed a wish for a different pack size, stating, 'Wishing they were smaller with more in a box … I need 6,' suggesting the four-place setting may not be sufficient for larger family gatherings.
The product is available in Aldi stores now, so festive planners are encouraged to act quickly before stocks run out.
