Chili's Grill & Bar has unveiled a new Margarita of the Month Club, perfectly timed for the upcoming National Margarita Day celebrations. This initiative transforms the restaurant's long-standing tradition of offering a different $6 margarita each month into an official club for enthusiasts.
A Club Born from Fan Enthusiasm
The concept for the Margarita of the Month Club emerged from observing dedicated customers who visit Chili's monthly to sample each new margarita offering. George Felix, Chili's Chief Marketing Officer, explained in a statement, "We saw a group of diehards who come in every month to try each new marg. We decided to give them an official way to show off their fandom complete with merch and a way to keep track of each of the margs they've tried. This isn't an exclusive club – all are welcome!"
How the Club Works
Customers aged 21 and over can sign up for the club online at no cost. Membership allows individuals to track the number and types of margaritas Chili's features each month. Upon joining, members gain access to the rotating monthly margaritas for just $6, alongside newly launched Chili's merchandise.
The available merchandise includes a cabana shirt in green or pink, a crewneck, a crescent bag, and a plastic keychain, all adorned with margarita-themed designs. Additionally, any club member who purchases merchandise will receive a complimentary Club Field Book, a passport-style booklet designed to record each margarita of the month tried at Chili's.
National Margarita Day Specials
In conjunction with the club launch, Chili's is marking National Margarita Day, which falls on Sunday, February 22, with exclusive in-restaurant drink deals for all customers of legal drinking age. On that day, patrons can enjoy a $5 Tequila Classic, crafted with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco, triple sec, and Chili's house-made sour.
The current $6 margarita of the month is the returning fan-favorite StrawEddy, made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, strawberry puree, and house-made sour. For $7 on Sunday, guests can opt for the Frozen Margarita, prepared with PATRÓN Silver Tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave.
Industry Context and Competition
This move follows Chili's impressive sale of nearly 30 million margaritas in 2025, surpassing any other restaurant in America. Chili's is not alone in gearing up for National Margarita Day; beloved Tex-Mex chain Chuy's is also offering promotions, including $1 floaters—extra small pours of tequila atop any margarita—and a keepsake giveaway cup for customers who pay two dollars to upgrade their house margarita, available in lime or strawberry flavors, on the rocks or frozen.
The Margarita of the Month Club celebrates a classic Chili's tradition, inspired by popular trends and seasonal flavors, while enhancing customer engagement through merchandise and tracking tools. This initiative aims to build community among margarita lovers and capitalize on the festive spirit of National Margarita Day.
