A major supermarket branch is closing its doors permanently, launching a massive closing down sale with all items marked at half price. The Farmfoods store located in Seaham, County Durham, will shut for good on Sunday, June 28.
Relocation to Larger Premises
Just a few days later, on July 2, the supermarket chain will move into a larger premises in the former B&M store at Byron Place. This relocation is expected to create seven new jobs for the local community.
Farmfoods is known across the UK for selling bargain frozen food, groceries, household products, and beauty items. The new store will offer an expanded range, including branded and own-brand frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, along with household and other items.
Final Day Sale Details
In anticipation of the closure, the branch has announced that on its final day, all stock will be sold at 50 percent off. A spokesperson for Farmfoods confirmed: "Our new shop in Seaham at the Byron Place Shopping Centre will open Thursday, July 2 at 8am. Our current shop will close on Sunday, June 28 following a 50 per cent off all stock sale that day."
The new store will operate from 8am to 9pm on weekdays, 8am to 8pm on Saturdays, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. This move marks a significant upgrade for the retailer in the area.
