Supermarket giant Morrisons has unveiled a significant expansion of its customer loyalty programme with the launch of a comprehensive travel booking service. The new offering, called Morrisons Travel, enables shoppers to organise their entire holiday while accumulating valuable More Card points through their purchases.
Earning Points on Getaways
Developed in partnership with the Expedia Group, this innovative service provides Morrisons customers with access to an extensive selection of travel options. Holidaymakers can browse and book flights, choose from over 900,000 properties worldwide, and arrange car hire, tours, and activities to complete their travel plans.
The service represents a strategic move by the supermarket chain to enhance customer loyalty by offering 10 More Points for every £1 spent on hotels, car rental, and activities booked through the platform. These points will appear as 'pending points' in the More app and will be added to customer accounts once their travel has been successfully completed.
Seamless Integration with Existing Loyalty Programme
Morrisons Travel integrates seamlessly with the existing Morrisons More Card programme, which already rewards customers with five More Points on every purchase when they scan their card in-store, online, or at participating Morrisons Daily locations. The programme also extends to grocery shopping through Amazon and fuel purchases at Morrisons petrol stations.
Once customers accumulate 5,000 More Points, they receive a Morrisons Fiver voucher that can be applied toward their next shopping trip, whether conducted in-store or through online channels. This creates a comprehensive rewards ecosystem that spans both everyday shopping and special occasion travel.
Convenience and Value for Customers
Jamie Winter, Director of Procurement at Morrisons, emphasised the company's commitment to customer convenience and value. "We're excited to be able to offer our customers even more reasons to shop at Morrisons with the launch of our new travel booking service, powered by Expedia Group," he stated.
"Customers can now book everything from flights to hotels through Morrisons while being rewarded through our More Card, once their trip is complete. This new service is designed to make life a little easier by offering more simple, good-value options in areas that really matter to our customers."
The introduction of Morrisons Travel represents a strategic expansion of the supermarket's digital services, allowing customers to manage both their grocery shopping and holiday planning through a single, integrated platform while maximising their loyalty rewards.
