The spacious pool sits at the heart of Bikini Hotel's gardens, a stone's throw from the Mediterranean Sea, providing an idyllic setting for unwinding.
Location and Setting
Bikini Hotel Es Trenc is nestled near the southern tip of Mallorca, approximately 50 kilometres from Palma, the island's capital, and about 40 minutes from Palma de Mallorca Airport. Perched on the rocky coastline, guests enjoy glorious ocean views from their balconies and can witness breathtaking sunsets from the hotel's bar and restaurant.
There are loungers around the pool or, for a more scenic option, on the rocks overlooking the sea, allowing for a truly immersive coastal experience.
Tucked between a former fishing village turned vibrant resort town and Es Trenc beach, one of Mallorca's finest, the hotel offers plenty to explore. A half-hour walk along the coastal boardwalk leads to the unspoiled town of Colonia de Sant Jordi, home to charming fish restaurants and outdoor bars serving cool drinks and tapas. Alternatively, a five-minute stroll to the right brings you to Es Trenc beach, renowned for its powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters.
The Vibe and Atmosphere
If you prefer a low-key vibe over formal high-end hotels, Bikini Hotel Es Trenc is an ideal choice. It exudes a creative, bohemian-Mediterranean atmosphere that feels both relaxed and stylish, instantly putting guests at ease.
The hotel comprises three renovated 1960s buildings painted in summery green and pink, adorned with bright floral murals. Bamboo furniture is scattered throughout the grounds for leisurely relaxation.
Public areas blend a free-spirited aesthetic with thoughtful design, eschewing the light, neutral palettes of typical luxury hotels in favour of bold colours and quirky antique furnishings. This creates a welcoming and playful space rather than a formal one.
The sparkling pool area, framed by palm trees and dotted with comfortable loungers, invites guests to unwind. In essence, the hotel is arty without being pretentious.
Service and Hospitality
Guests are greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, making them feel at home immediately. While there might be occasional short waits at the front desk or restaurant, this aligns with the hotel's slower pace of life and is more than compensated for by the staff's friendliness.
Accommodation Details
Rooms are decorated in a delightful array of warm colours, offering comfort and a quirky charm far from the standard white walls of many high-end hotels. They feature a natural feel with wicker or wood furniture and local fabrics.
Notably, most rooms lack TVs (except suites and penthouses), encouraging guests to relax and immerse themselves in the surrounding nature. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, tempting you to lounge all day if not for the allure of sun and sea.
Attention to detail is first-rate, with practical touches like sunscreen, hand-held fans, Bluetooth speakers, and reusable water bottles provided in each room. Spacious balconies with cushioned chairs are perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks.
Dining Options
The hotel's restaurant, NENI, maintains a sophisticated yet relaxed style with wicker lampshades, hanging plants, and sea-view terraces. Its menu blends Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours, offering dishes for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, such as freekeh risotto and wagyu kebabs.
Mosquitoes can be an issue in the early evening, but staff provide insect repellent to guests. Breakfast includes a buffet with hot English dishes with a Spanish twist, plus fresh pastries, cereals, and cold foods like tropical fruits and cheeses.
The beach bar, Gin Sul, offers over 100 options from smoothies to cocktails, and a free self-serve water dispenser provides still and sparkling water, a thoughtful touch given local tap water advisories.
Facilities and Amenities
Outside, a large swimming pool and sun loungers on the rocks offer relaxation with sea views. The spa features a sauna and steam room free for all guests, plus paid treatments like massages using aloe vera-based products.
A well-equipped gym and a "yoga platform" with free weekly classes align with the wellness theme. Guests can also borrow mountain bikes and E-bikes at no extra charge to explore beyond Es Trenc beach.
Practical Information
The hotel has wheelchair-accessible rooms and public areas, with an electric lift to the pool. Pets are not allowed, and check-in is from 3pm, check-out by 11am. While adult-oriented, guests over 14 are welcome, though there are no specific facilities for children.
