The family of a Scottish man are desperately appealing for information after he vanished while travelling alone in Thailand.
Disappearance in Bangkok
Kenny Robertson, aged 58, was last in contact with relatives on Monday, January 5. He was at Bangkok Airport at the time. A brief email was sent to a friend three days later, on January 8, but there has been no trace of him since.
His loved ones have told authorities that it is completely out of character for Kenny not to stay in touch. He had planned a solo trip exploring Thailand for several weeks before beginning voluntary work at a dog sanctuary. The sanctuary has confirmed it has received no communication from him.
Family's Desperate Appeal
The disappearance has been formally reported to the Thai police, with the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) also informed. A heartfelt plea was shared on social media by his friend, Jordan McLeod.
"My friend has been reported missing after arriving in Thailand," McLeod wrote. "He has made no further contact with friends or family which is very out of character for him. If you can do anything please share."
A missing person poster has been widely circulated online. Kenny is described as being 5ft 6in tall and wearing glasses.
Second British Tourist Missing
In a separate and concerning development, a 21-year-old British man from Grimsby has also been reported missing in Thailand. Joshua, whose full name has not been released, failed to contact his family after arriving in the country on Monday, January 12.
He had been travelling alone and is believed to have been in the popular coastal resort of Pattaya. He was scheduled to fly back from Bangkok on Monday, January 19, arriving in the UK in the early hours of Tuesday, January 20.
His family are in contact with Thai border police, local authorities, and the British Embassy in Bangkok. They are being updated by both police and embassy staff.
Anyone with information on Kenny Robertson's whereabouts is urged to contact the UK Foreign Office and UK police. Those in Thailand should reach out to the local Thai police or the British Embassy in Bangkok immediately.
