Charity Severs Ties with Former Chairman Amid Child Abuse Plot Allegations
Charity Distances Itself from Ex-Chairman in Abuse Case

A prominent children's charity has moved swiftly to distance itself from its former chairman following shocking allegations that he conspired with a private school teacher to drug and sexually abuse minors. The case has sent shockwaves through both the charitable and educational sectors in Sydney.

Serious Charges Laid Against Tech Entrepreneur

Tech entrepreneur and angel investor Todd Anthony Soulas, aged 35, faces twenty-three serious offences following his arrest at his Randwick unit in Sydney's eastern suburbs last September. The charges include aggravated sexual assault of a child, child prostitution offences, and multiple counts related to child abuse material.

Alleged Co-Conspirator Identified

Court documents reveal that Soulas allegedly conspired with Peter James Adam, a 63-year-old former teacher at International Grammar School in inner Sydney. Police allege the two men plotted the sexual assaults of two children between June 2024 and July 2025.

According to police prosecutors, the alleged facts behind the case are "abhorrent and concerning". The court heard that Adam had discussed "pimping out" a young boy for extra cash and sending a girl's underwear to Soulas' home address.

Charity Issues Public Statement

Reimagine Australia, a charity supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities, confirmed last week that Soulas had previously served as chairman. In a statement posted on social media, the organisation expressed deep distress about the allegations.

"We are deeply distressed by recent media reports regarding alleged harm to children involving Todd Soulas who once held a limited, non-operational governance position as chairman at Reimagine," the statement read.

The charity emphasised that Soulas had no operational responsibilities or decision-making authority relating to programs, and police have confirmed the organisation is not involved in any related investigations.

Graphic Details Emerge in Court

During bail proceedings, Magistrate Margaret Quinn described alleged messages between the two men as "fairly revolting" and "graphic". Prosecutors revealed that when Adam expressed concern about involving one girl in the plot, Soulas allegedly responded: "Well, that's fine, we can drug her. We can record her having sex with a dog and own her anonymously."

Police further allege that Soulas paid a young girl $1,605 to send him nude images and videos between November 2023 and August 2025, instructing her to sexually touch herself. He also allegedly supplied drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine and cocaine, and dealt with $112,520 in proceeds of crime.

Schools Respond to Allegations

International Grammar School swiftly edited its website and social media posts to remove references to Adam following his arrest. A school spokeswoman confirmed he would be stood down from his position.

Adam's wife, Genet Erickson-Adam, who serves as deputy head at the prestigious private school Cranbrook, listened to his virtual bail hearing. The court heard that Adam had taken photos of both children in vulnerable positions, with Soulas allegedly planning to use artificial intelligence to create child abuse material.

Bail Applications Denied

Both men remain in custody after bail applications were refused. Magistrate Quinn found the risk of releasing Adam was too great, noting the "exceedingly strong" case against him. His Legal Aid solicitor had proposed strict conditions including daily police reporting and surrendering his passport.

Adam was arrested in Bondi on January 14 and charged with two counts of incitement to commit aggravated sex assault in company and using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material.

Police located the alleged incriminating messages after seizing three mobile phones from Soulas' home during his arrest. The investigation continues as both men await their next court appearances.
