Tributes have been paid to a 24-year-old woman from Edinburgh who was tragically killed in a devastating head-on collision during a high-speed police chase on the A19 dual carriageway near Sunderland. Taylor Jenkins lost her life when the white BMW she was travelling in as a passenger drove on the wrong side of the road and collided with a Volkswagen Sharan.
Fatal Incident During Police Pursuit
The fatal crash occurred on Sunday morning when Northumbria Police were pursuing the BMW vehicle. According to authorities, the white BMW was being chased at high speed before it crossed onto the incorrect side of the roadway, resulting in the catastrophic collision with the Volkswagen.
Taylor Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Northumbria Police confirmed that another passenger in the BMW, a man in his 20s, remains hospitalized in a life-threatening condition following the crash.
